CLT solid wood elements

Infinite opportunities

CLT solid wood elements provide an ecological and innovative solution for housing and office construction and for demanding public construction. As a material, CLT (cross-laminated timber) offers infinite opportunities in terms of architecture, structures, and style. Puumerkki delivers CLT elements, especially for single-family houses and low buildings.

Structure of CLT elements
CLT solid wood elements consist of wood boards that have been stacked crosswise on top of each other and glue-laminated together. This makes the structure strong and solid. While the size of CLT boards in production vary depending on the manufacturer, the most common size is 2,95 x 16,00 m. The thickness is usually 60-400 mm. Insulation, cladding, and HVAC penetrations of the elements can be completed at the factory, where required.

CLT is diverse and modifiable:
  • The inner side of the elements can be left visible or clad
  • CLT buildings can be clad with wood, insulation that can be covered with plaster, or thin plaster boards
  • Relative stability makes CLT elements easy to combine with other building materials, such as glass and steel.
