OSB Boards

For wood construction, temporary structures, protection and packing

OSB (oriented strand board)
OSB is a three-layered particle board, in which the long strands of wood have been placed crosswise into layers. The most common applications of OSB board include wood construction, temporary structures, protection, and packing.

When used in construction, OSB board is often concealed inside the roof, intermediate floor, and wall structures. Due to its unique look, it has, however, become increasingly popular to leave the OSB board visible e.g. in the wall structure of fair stands. The surface of the board is usually unsanded and the thickness of the board is not even. The correct installation direction in terms of strength and any approval markings required have normally been stamped on the surface of the board.

Gluing of OSB boards
Binding agents and their combinations used in the products can vary depending on the manufacturer and the product. Resin mixes with added formaldehyde are often used in the manufacture. However, not all products contain added formaldehyde. More detailed material information and formaldehyde emission classifications can be found in the manufacturer's product information and CE declarations of performance.

The thickness, strength qualities, and stability, when exposed to humidity, vary depending on the product type. More detailed product information for structural planning can be found in the manufacturer's CE declarations of performance. The products must be stored protected from weather conditions.
