Responsible operations
Responsibility is one of our key principles. We aim to always act in a responsible way, taking account of the economic, social, and environmental impacts of our operations.
Puumerkki is in full control of the origins of the wood that it uses. We ensure that all timber that we sell meet the requirements of EU law and national legislation. With Puumerkki’s wood products, you can always be certain that their raw material comes from sustainably managed forests. Our wood products are also well suited to buildings with environmental certification, such as BREEAM, Nordic Swan ecolabel, and PEFC.
We are a pioneer in the use of PEFC and FSC® certifications, and our operations are verified annually by DNV. As a recognition of our commitment to responsibility and ecological values, we were the first wood products wholesaler chain in Finland to receive the PEFC certificate in 2012 and the FSC® certificate in 2013.
We are also happy to assist our partners in sustainability and certification matters. Together with our suppliers and customers, we are able to significantly promote an ecologically sustainable future.
